Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation

As well as being a long-time fan of the orangutan (who isn't?) I specifically was a long-time fan of the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation. As such I was delighted to create this educational film for children for them, to teach local schools in Indonesia the importance of the orangutan to the rainforest.

Starting with a mother orangutan on the ground, we follow her up a tree as her baby joins her, and out into the rain forest canopy. The film features sweet moments of interaction between mother and child, as well as colourful environments to show the beauty of the orangutan's home that they contribute to through facilitating seed dispersal.

This film was created in ToonBoom Harmony using rigged puppets, with hand painted backgrounds. The film was then composited in After Effects.
