Young people have hailed the importance of youth work and called for more investment into it – despite youth workers warning they cannot currently meet the “growing demand and complexity of young people’s needs”. This film I directed for UK Youth and the NCS Trust is exactly the kind of project I love, and explores some of the findings of In Our Own Words: newly published research examining the role and value of youth work.

I used a fun cutout style mixed with more traditional animation to capture the tone of the voices, to do justice to the excitement and engagement that young people had with the topic, as well as bringing out some of the more serious sides of Youth Work impact.
